PETADD opens its wholesale marketplace for independent pet shops and their suppliers

PETADD, a business-to-business wholesale marketplace built for the pet trade, is now open to independent pet shops and to the brands, manufacturers and distributors that supply them in Europe and the United States. Why PETADD

Buying wholesale is still hard work for an independent pet shop. Products are spread across sales reps, PDF price lists, email order forms and trade shows. Minimum orders are often written for large chains, and every new brand means another account and another conversation. Suppliers, in turn, find small independent retailers hard to reach and costly to serve one by one.

PETADD puts both sides in one place. Shops discover brands and order directly from them, and suppliers present a real wholesale catalogue to retailers who are actively looking for new products.

PETADD is for businesses only. It is not a consumer shop, and private customers cannot order on the platform.

How it works

Every shop and supplier goes through business verification: company registration, a tax or VAT number, and a trading licence where the country issues one. Until a business is verified it can browse the catalogue, but wholesale prices stay hidden, because suppliers treat them as confidential commercial information.

Once verified, a shop can:

• filter the catalogue by category, animal and country of origin;

• see the wholesale price and minimum order on every product variant;

• order from one cart, with a separate order for each supplier, tracked through to delivery;

• discuss assortment, lead times and samples with the supplier in the built-in messenger.

Verified suppliers upload their catalogue, set wholesale prices and minimum orders, and receive orders from verified shops. The sale itself is a direct agreement between the shop and the supplier. PETADD runs the marketplace around it instead of reselling products under its own name, so every order stays a direct trading relationship, the way the pet trade already works.

No commission on direct payments

Registering and listing products on PETADD are free. Shops can also pay suppliers directly, for example by bank transfer, whenever the supplier offers it: the money goes straight from the shop to the supplier, PETADD never touches it, and neither side pays any commission or fee on that order. The shop simply chooses direct payment at checkout.

Fees apply only when an order is paid by card on PETADD: the shop pays a payment fee of 2.5% of the order value, and the supplier pays a 5.5% commission. Card payments are held until the shop confirms that the order has arrived, and are refunded in full if the supplier declines or cancels the order.
