Portland Pet Food

Portland Pet Food Company began in 2014 in Portland, Oregon, when founder Katie McCarron started cooking fresh meals for her aging Standard Poodle, Rosie, who had stopped eating conventional food. The recipe that brought Rosie back to the bowl became the company's first product, and McCarron turned her kitchen experiments into a business she still leads. She first sold her recipes at local farmers' markets before moving into specialty retail. The company stayed family-owned and built its reputation on human-grade ingredients sourced and made in the USA, with no fillers or artificial additives. Today the range centers on ready-to-serve, shelf-stable meal pouches for dogs and cats that serve as a complete meal or a topper over kibble, and it also includes dog biscuits and treats. Products are sold through independent pet retailers, grocery chains, and online. The brand has drawn national attention, appearing on Inc. magazine's list of fast-growing companies in 2024 and expanding to international markets including Japan. Its headquarters remain in Portland, Oregon.
